The biennial Medaram jatara 2016 or sammakka sarakka jatara 2016 is all set to start today that is 17th Feburary 2016 in Medaram and also in 42 mini and parallel sammakka jatara also will be held in various parts of karimnagar as per information from govet of telanagana endownment department
Actual medaram jatara will be held in Medaram village in tadvai mandal warangal district of telanagan which is neighbourhood or karimnagar district Medaram jathara 2016 starts on 17th Feburary 2016 to 20th Feburary 2016 from Wednesday to Saturday this week officially endownment depart ment of telanagana goverment also recognised 42 parallel and mini medaram jatara in karimnagar district were lakhs of people are expected in the near by districts
The fourty two mini medaram jatara 2016 which will be held parallel Sammakka Saralamma or Sarakka jataras would be held in Rekurthi and Chintakunta on the outskirts of Karimnagar town, Goliwada in Godavarikhani, Husnabad, Odela, Manakondur, Shankarpatnam, Manthani, Huzurabad, Bheemadevarapalli and other 24 mandals in karimnagar adilabad districts.

Most of the outskirts of Karimnagar district and even town has been decorated well by the endowment department of telanagan goverenment in Medaram jathara shoba can be seen Sammakka and Saralamma platforms or gaddelu were well decorated welcomeing people for the jatara where the Goddesses Sammakka and Sarakka would be placed during the medaram jatara for the devotees to worship at Rekurthi and Chintakunta of karimnagar districts every were the organisers have made best arrangements for the medaram jatara 2016 this year as this is the first jatara in the new telanagana state .This year 2016 Medaram jatara would begin on Wednesday with the local tribal priests getting the tribal goddesses from nearby hillocks in a vessel filled with vermillion and turmeric powder and covered with red cloth and placed at the platforms. The devotees worship the goddesses by offering jaggery(Bellam)(Bangaram), coconuts, bangles, sarees, animal sacrifices and many more to godess sammakka sarakka.

As we have water shortage all over telangana this year and shortage of water in the SRSP canal at the Rekurthi Medaram jatara the locals and the authorities have arranged showers for the pilgrims to take bath under them.the small-time traders have also setup their stalls to sell various products for the benefit of pilgrims visiting the jatara venue well before the medaram jathara time. In every were the medaram jathara all in the Mini and Main jathara CCTV cameras are arranged in benifit of security of the devotees good drinking water and parking facilities for the convinience of the piligrims are arranged which are much appreciated by people of telanagan this time devotees started saying good facilities are provided

Telanagan Government is spending 154.5 crores for conducting this jatara as this is the biggest jatara in telangana and its the first time being celebrated under telangana government more than 2 cores of people are expected to the main Medaram jathara which is being held in Medaram village Tadvai warangal district

Medaram jatara Day -1 on 17th Feb 2016 that is 1st day of "Medaram Jathara 2016" Medaram Jathara 2016 is celebrated with the arrival of Saralamma on to the Saralamma Gadde ‘Medaram Gaddhe’ (Platform). Saralamma was the daughter of Sarakka. Saralamma is installed in a temple at Kannepalli, a small village near Medaram On 12 February 2014, in the morning pujaris perform pujas secretly. The unmarried women and men, those who want to have children and those who are suffering from diseases perform special pujas to Saralamma on this day The villages of Kannepalli perform ‘Aarti’ and organize grand farewell to Saralamma. From there, the idol of Saralamma is brought to Medaram Gaddhe through ‘Jampanna Vaagu’ (a small canal named after Jampanna) After arriving on to the ‘Gaddhe’ Saralamma is worshipped with special pujas and other rituals. More than 3 million devotees visit Saralamma and offer special pujas as a part of Medaram Jathara 2016 as expected.
